I reinstalled the updater for Kontakt Player 2.2.4 Still no change in Sibelius play/playback devices. Still no Garritan or Kontakt Player 2 in Sibelius. I reinstalled Sibelius 5.25, starting with the DVD 5.1 and updating to 5.25. I uninstalled Cyberlink's Power Director (with Sound Bits). But when I activate the card, none of my sampled instruments can be found in the Sound Sets selection box. And I see my sound card (M-Audio Delta 192) under available devices. Now when I start Sibelius, I get an error message:"audio engine error: bad settings." When I enter Play>Playback Devices, I see Sibelius Essentials, 16 & 32 sounds, under Configuration.
Whatever wreaked this havoc on Sibelius' playback configuration, the result is that I can't get Sibelius to play back any of my sampled instruments, and I can't find a way to restore them. When I ran Sibelius, I found that all trace of my sampled instruments had disappeared from Sibelius (although the files were not erased from my hard disk.) The culprit, I suspect, was a program called Sound Producer that comes bundled with Power Director.
